Did Justin Bieber effectively kill Steampunk for the rest of us? The teeny bopper prince of junior pop has taken the look mainstream and happy for the masses. While I love some of the sets and costumes, (kudos to the designers) I just feel that Steampunk was always a movement for artistic, edgier, fringe, visionaries or romantics. The thought of Steampunk being something that will be mass-marketed by huge corporations is a little creepy to me. Am I being cynical?
What do you think of the video? Watch it here and discuss...

I'm not 100% sure what's worse: the fact JB is doing Steampunk or the fact that it's a JB Steampunk Christmas.
Or that he's clearly wearing an adult diaper. Why else would his pants sag that much?
I'm sorry, but Bieber and steampunk are mutually exclusive terms. And concerning the video... I have no words.
OMFG :S I hate that kid XDD sorry.. hate it´s not good, but it´s the true! i could not see the video, hate the music jajaja, I prefer classic christmas songs.
Steampunk is the new trend in fashion, I am not against that, but please if pop artist will be doing things like this, I am going to cry harder
The vid has no effect at all on the genre.

Bieber killed steampunk for me!
I disagree with Ruzu. Steampunk is not new in fashion. It has appeared and disappeared on Paris runways for the past couple of years.
The fact that Bieber's design team picked up Steampunk should be of no surprise - Steampunk has been working itself into mainstream media, film and television to the point where sepia has become the new monotone.
